Ghana Airports Company Refuses To Give Information about Agreement with Frontiers Health Service
The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has refused to furnish the agreement it has with Frontiers Health Services, a Service provider offering Coronavirus testing at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
In a letter to the Head of the research desk of Joy in response to an RTI request for some information, the GACL said the agreement it has with the foreign company is exempted from the list of information one is entitled to under the RTI Act.
“The Agreement between the GACL and Frontier Health Services contains information of a nature exempted under Section 10 of the Right to Information Act, 2019, Act 989”, a part of the letter said.
On the processes that led to the selection of the company, the GACL said it is not in possession of the processes.
It also said that payment for the covid testing was made directly to Frontiers Health services. And therefore cannot confirm the amount of money made by the testing agency at the KIA.
