The Ghana Police Service has placed a fifty thousand cedis (GHC50,000) bounty on the heads of the three suspected armed robbers who caused the death of two police officers on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Zuarungu in the Upper East Region.
The cops; General Constable Emmanuel Akowuah and General Constable Adam Suley were undertaking patrol duties when they pounced on the three suspected robbers who had robbed a provision shop of an amount of two thousand cedis (2,000) at gunpoint.
At the appearance of the patrolling cops, the suspected robbers fired bullets at them.
“Bullet pierced through the fuel tank of the police motorbike which exploded into flames and partly burnt Constable Adam Suley“, the police recounted.
Following this, the police say a special anti-robbery intelligence-led operation has been launched to track down the suspects.
Five empty shells of AK-47 ammunition and one empty shell of BB cartridge ammunition were retrieved from the scene together with the police motorbike to aid police investigations.
