5 Rooms, Students’ Belongings Destroyed in Zuarungu Nursing College Fire- GNFS

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) says Monday’s fire outbreak destroyed five rooms and the belongings of the Zuarungu Nursing and Midwifery Training College.
The fire started at 12:14 hrs at the girls’ hostel.
A statement by the Service said, “Two (2) fire appliances from the Zuarungu and Bolgatanga Fire Stations arrived promptly within minutes to meet a well-advanced fire.”
The flames were brought under control at 1320hrs and fully extinguished at 14: 08hrs.
“Five (5) rooms and students’ belongings were lost, but six (6) others were salvaged, limiting the damage. Fortunately, no injuries were recorded.”
The Regional Fire Commander, ACFO II Sagoe, was at the scene to assess the extent of damage and assured school management of a thorough investigation and preventive measures to avert future incidents.
