“He Is the King of Kings” — HAPAwards CEO Hails Asantehene

The Founder and CEO of the Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards (HAPAwards), Dr Tina Weisinger, has praised Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, describing him as the “King of the African Diaspora”.
She recognises that global leadership continues to reconnect global Africans with their heritage.
She made the remarks while speaking at the seventh Akwasidae festival on October 11, 2026, at the Manhyia Palace at the end of the grand three-day event marking the 10th Anniversary of the HAPAwards.
Dr Weisinger expressed deep gratitude to the Asante King for hosting the historic celebration on Asante soil.
Explaining why HAPAwards chose the Asantehene as King of the Diaspora, she pointed to Otumfuo’s international reputation and magnetic presence on the world stage.
She noted that whenever the Asantehene travels abroad, people from all walks of life gather to hear him speak and seek his presence, solidifying his role as a revered leader for the global African community.
“We are being asked, ‘Why this King?’ This is the King of the African Diaspora. When he speaks, people listen. He shows up across the world, and people are happy to be in his presence. He is the King of Kings,” she declared.
Dr Weisinger also highlighted the deep emotional impact of the visit on delegates—many of whom were setting foot on African soil for the first time.
She described the trip as a homecoming for the “lost children” of the diaspora, who have now found a sense of belonging in Ghana and built memories that will last a lifetime.
The 10th-anniversary celebration drew an international audience spanning several continents.
Delegates travelled from Liberia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Uganda, the United States, Brazil, Russia and England to take part in the historic cultural festivities, which featured awards presentations, cultural showcases, and creator forums honouring Pan-African excellence.
