KMA Postpones Alabar Clean-Up Exercise to October 10

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has postponed its clean-up exercise scheduled for Alabar on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
In a statement issued on October 2, 2026, the Assembly said the postponement is due to the New Patriotic Party National Congress taking place in Kumasi, which requires the Assembly to make necessary adjustments to ensure smooth coordination of activities within the metropolis.
The exercise has therefore been rescheduled to Saturday, October 10, 2026.
The clean-up will cover Alabar and adjoining areas, with all residents, traders, businesses, commercial drivers, organised groups and other stakeholders in the Afia Kobi Electoral Area expected to participate fully.
As previously announced, all trading and commercial activities within Alabar and the following areas will be required to remain closed from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on the rescheduled date.
The affected stretch is from Apagyafie Crossroads to Doctor Mensah and from Aboabo Station to Apagyafie Crossroads.
Commercial vehicle drivers are also reminded that no vehicles will be allowed within the operational areas during the stipulated period of the exercise.
The KMA apologised for any inconvenience the change in date may cause and has appealed to residents, traders, businesses and other stakeholders to take note of the new date and cooperate fully to make the exercise a success.
