The handover ceremony took place on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the Kwadaso Agricultural College in Kumasi.

The equipment includes mini drones, soil testers, moisture meters, weather stations, GPS devices, IoT sensor kits, computers, greenhouse control kits and agricultural software and simulators.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku, expressed his appreciation to WFP and KOICA for their support, describing the initiative as an investment in the knowledge, skills and innovation needed to prepare young people for the future of agriculture.

He said the intervention will not only enhance teaching and learning but also position agricultural education to meet the demands of a rapidly changing sector driven by technology and data.

The initiative will also provide training for instructors and tutors, while students will receive practical training in digital agriculture, including precision farming, data-driven decision-making and digital agribusiness.
