Asantehemaa Hosts Nkoranza Traditional Council
The Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Yaa Akyaa II, has hosted the Nkoranza Traditional Council at the Manhyia Palace.
The reception took place on September 30, during a visit by the Council led by the Paramount Chief, Nana Kwame Baffoe IV, and the Queen Mother, Oheneyere Yaa Sarpomaa III.
They used the occasion to extend their well wishes to Her Majesty and congratulate her on her ascension.
“We have not been able to come and pay homage since the ascension of Her Majesty. We were restrained by developments in Nkoranza, so our late arrival was not intentional. As soon as the path was cleared, we decided to mobilise ourselves and come to greet you,” the linguist of Nkoranzahene said.
The traditional son and wife of the Asantehene also used the occasion to affirm their commitment to the Asantehemaa.
They assured Her Majesty of their availability to serve whenever the need arises.
“We want to assure you that we will avail ourselves at all times to your service,” they said as they honoured the Queen with some presents.
They also sought her blessings in their customary and traditional mandate over the Nkoranza Traditional Area.
Nana Yaa Akyaa warmly received the delegation and assured them of her constant prayers.
