Agric Ministry Announces 7-Day Sponsored Italy Trips for National Best Farmer, Best Poultry Farmer 

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture has announced international sponsorship packages for winners of the 42nd National Farmers’ Day Celebration 2026.

In a press release dated September 23, 2026, the Ministry said it is collaborating with Mehak Company Limited and Covenant Farms to reward excellence in Ghanaian agriculture.

According to the release, the two agribusiness leaders have pledged transformative international exposure packages for distinguished farmers to study best agricultural practices in Italy.

Under the package, the Overall National Best Farmer 2026, sponsored by Mehak Company Limited, and his spouse or partner will enjoy an exclusive 7-day, all-expenses-paid international agricultural study and leisure trip to Italy.

The trip will offer exposure to modern European agritech, sustainable value chains and processing innovations.

Similarly, the Best National Poultry Farmer 2026, sponsored by Covenant Farms, will also embark on an all-expenses-paid 7-day technical and benchmarking trip to Italy, focusing on modern poultry practices and sustainable and innovative systems.

The Ministry said the packages are designed to expose Ghana’s gallant farmers to modern farming technologies, processing innovations and smart agricultural practices.

It added that the initiative directly supports the government’s agricultural modernisation goals and demonstrates a shared commitment to recognising excellence, innovation and resilience in Ghanaian agriculture.
