Global Pharma Giant Novartis Endorses Ghana Medical Trust Fund
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund has received a major international endorsement, with global healthcare giant Novartis describing the Fund as a “critical and timely” intervention for Ghana’s health sector.
Novartis, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, has pledged collaboration with GMTF to expand access to specialised healthcare for Ghanaians living with chronic diseases.
The commitment was made during an engagement with the Fund’s leadership, where Novartis hailed GMTF’s model as a vital step toward making life-saving care accessible to all, particularly for patients with chronic non-communicable diseases.
Beyond direct patient support, the company is exploring broader assistance, including research partnerships, provision of medical equipment, and specialist training to strengthen Ghana’s healthcare delivery system.
The backing is expected to significantly boost GMTF’s mission to provide sustainable financing for specialised chronic disease care in Ghana.
