ECG Blames Power Outage In Ashanti East on Network Fault

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has blamed the power outage affecting several communities in the region on a fault in its network.
In a notice issued on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, ECG said the outage being experienced in the underlisted areas is a result of a fault in its network.
Affected areas in Ashanti East include Juaso, Low Cost, Yawkwei, Freetown, Abosomtwigya and surrounding areas, as well as Asenemaso, Aboaso, Ntonso, Heman, Ankaase, Adumakese, Kona, Manponteng and surrounding areas.
ECG assured affected customers that its engineers are working to rectify the fault and restore power supply as soon as possible.
The company also apologised for the inconvenience caused to affected customers.
