Chief Justice Calls For Unity of Purpose Among Judicial Service Staff
The Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, has underscored the importance of unity of purpose among personnel of the Judicial Service, notwithstanding the differences in their respective roles and responsibilities.
“Our roles may differ, but the purpose that brings us together is the same,” he said while speaking at a staff Durbar held at the forecourt of the High Court (Land Division) in Tema, under the theme: “Strengthening the Foundations of Justice through Leadership, Innovation and Technology”.
He reaffirmed Management’s commitment to addressing the challenges confronting staff while acknowledging their professionalism, dedication and resilience despite resource constraints.
The Judicial Secretary, Mr Musah Ahmed, reiterated the Chief Justice’s message, urging staff and Management to adopt an open, constructive and collaborative approach to the progress of the Service.
He noted that meaningful progress required both an honest recognition of existing challenges and an appreciation of achievements made.
For their part, the National Presidents of the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) and the Senior Staff Association of the Judicial Service of Ghana (SSAJUG) — Mr Samuel Afotey Otu and Mrs Marilyn Suttah — called on staff to uphold integrity and professionalism at all times in the performance of their duties.
They both urged Management to prioritise staff welfare, security and dignity, emphasising that staff remained the foundation upon which effective justice delivery rests.
