You May Count on Us – Female Gov’t Appointees to Asantehemaa

Female government officials have pledged their services to Nana Yaa Akyaa II, Asantehemaa, in the service of Asanteman and Ghana.

They described Her Majesty as their mother and assured her of their readiness to join forces with her in pursuit of their shared vision.

“We have come to our mother’s feet to begin this journey together, in shared vision and shared mandate. You may count on us as you begin a successful reign,” they said.

The assurance was given when the officials, including Presidential Staffers, Cabinet Ministers, Ministers of State, female Chief Executive Officers, National Executives, Heads of Institutions, female Members of Parliament and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives, paid a courtesy call on her at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on September 14, 2026.

They used the occasion to extend their goodwill and congratulatory message to the Asantehemaa.

The delegation included Nana Yaa Jantuah, Presidential Aide; Rita Odeley Sowah, Deputy Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs; Hajia Shamima Muslim, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson; and Matilda Asare Asiedu, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana.

Also present were Pamela Graham, Auditor-General; Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong, Chief Fire Officer; COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department; Obuobia Darko-Opoku, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund; Getrude Emefa Donkor, CEO of Ghana Gold Board Jewellery; Felicia Adjei, Kintampo South MP; and Faustilove Appiah Kannin, Obuasi West MCE.
