We’ll Count on Your Wisdom – Gov’t Officials to Asantehemaa

Female government officials have expressed their intention to seek counsel and direction from the wisdom of Nana Yaa Akyaa II, Asantehemaa, in the discharge of their constitutional mandates.

During a visit to congratulate her on her enstoolment on September 14, 2026, they announced their intention to make the abode of Her Majesty their primary source of direction.

The primary goal, they noted, is to govern well and meet the expectations of women, children and men alike.

“We have every confidence that you will be the unifier you have already shown yourself to be, and we will count on your wisdom to help govern well and meet the expectations of women, children and men alike,” Nana Oye Bampoe Addo said while reading a speech on their behalf.

They also appealed for close partnership and unity with Her Majesty in the service of the country.

The delegation included Nana Yaa Jantuah, Presidential Aide; Rita Odeley Sowah, Deputy Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs; Hajia Shamima Muslim, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson; and Matilda Asare Asiedu, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana.

Also present were Pamela Graham, Auditor-General; Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong, Chief Fire Officer; COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department; Obuobia Darko-Opoku, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund; Getrude Emefa Donkor, CEO of Ghana Gold Board Jewellery; Felicia Adjei, Kintampo South MP; and Faustilove Appiah Kannin, Obuasi West MCE.
