Government Engages World Bank On New Country Partnership Framework 2027-2032 – Jinapor

The government has engaged the World Bank Group on Ghana’s new Country Partnership Framework (CPF) 2027-2032 to align the Bank’s support with Ghana’s priorities and accelerate economic transformation.

The National Consultation was attended by the Ministers for Finance, Trade and Industry, Roads and Highways, and Energy.

Speaking on the engagement, Minister for Energy, John Jinapor, said the CPF presents an important opportunity to mobilise the support needed to accelerate Ghana’s transformation.

He described the consultation as an opportunity to reflect on where the country stands, the progress made, and the kind of economy it wants to build for the future.

Mr Jinapor said it was encouraging to hear the World Bank Group recognise the progress Ghana has made in restoring economic stability and advancing economic transformation under President John Dramani Mahama.

On the energy sector, the Minister outlined significant reforms undertaken since assuming office, including the prudent management of the cash waterfall mechanism, massive reforms across the distribution sector, and investments to strengthen and modernise the transmission system.

He also highlighted the rollout of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to support peak demand and enhance the reliability and resilience of the power system.

“I am confident that, working together with our development partners, we can build on the progress already made and unlock new opportunities for our people,” he stated.
