Two Dead, Six Injured In Crash along Accra-Kumasi Highway

Two people have been confirmed dead and six others injured in a fatal road crash at Dr Marbel Junction on the Accra-Kumasi Highway on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

The accident, which involved a DAF truck, a VW Sprinter bus and a tricycle, prompted a swift response from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station.

Firefighters rescued one victim who was trapped under the DAF truck and transported the casualty to the Suhum Government Hospital for treatment.

According to preliminary findings by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), brake failure caused the DAF truck to lose control, crashing into the Sprinter bus, which subsequently collided with a parked tricycle.

The tricycle was completely destroyed in the crash, while the truck and the bus sustained partial damage.

The GNFS has urged motorists to regularly service their vehicles and exercise caution on the road to help prevent such crashes.
