Mahama Returns Home After AU Extraordinary Summit In Luanda

President John Dramani Mahama has returned home from Luanda, Angola, after participating in the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government.

The high-level summit brought together African leaders to deliberate on pressing continental issues and to advance the AU’s agenda for peace, integration and sustainable development.

President Mahama was accompanied to the summit by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Operations, and Special Envoy to the AES Countries, Colonel Larry Gbevlo-Lartey (Rtd.).

The President and his delegation arrived in Accra where he was received by senior government officials and party executives.

The Extraordinary Session forms part of ongoing efforts by the African Union to provide strategic leadership and coordinate collective responses to the continent’s political, security and economic challenges.
