Local Government Minister Inspects Kejetia Market Phase II And Krofrom Market Projects

The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, has visited the Kejetia Market Phase II and Krofrom Market projects to assess their current state.

He was accompanied by the Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Kwasi Ofori Boadi Agyemang, Apagyahene Oheneba Owusu Afriyie IV, and a section of heads of departments at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).

The visit took place on August 30, 2026.

It was aimed at assessing the current state of the projects and exploring practical measures to facilitate the resumption and completion of the long-delayed works.

The inspection forms part of ongoing efforts to address challenges surrounding the projects and ensure that these important market facilities are completed to serve traders and residents of Kumasi.

The Minister’s visit follows his assumption of office.
