Mahama Swears In Ayariga and Zanetor As Ministers of Chieftaincy and Environment

President John Dramani Mahama has sworn into office Mahama Ayariga as Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs and Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings as Minister for Environment, Science and Technology.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Presidency and follows their vetting and approval by Parliament.
President Mahama charged the new Ministers to serve with integrity, humility, fairness and fidelity to the Constitution.
He reminded them that public office is a privilege and a responsibility to put the national interest first.
Ayariga takes over from Ibrahim Ahmed, who has been reassigned to the Ministry of Works and Housing.
Meanwhile, Zanetor takes over as substantive Minister for Environment following the demise of Murtala Mohammed, who died among seven others in a helicopter crash in 2025.
