Gender Ministry Takes Steps To Develop E-Library Web Application

The Research, Statistics, Information Management (RSIM) Directorate of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has organised a two-day stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering meeting on the development of the Ministry’s E-Library Web Application.

Opening the meeting, the Director of the RSIM Directorate, Dr. Sylvester Kyei-Gyamfi, underscored the importance of developing a robust digital knowledge management system to improve the storage, accessibility and sharing of institutional information.

He noted that the engagement was intended to ensure the proposed e-library is developed based on the operational needs and inputs of stakeholders across the Ministry.

Held from Thursday, 23rd to Friday, July 24, 2026 at the Ministry’s Conference Room, the meeting brought together representatives from the Ministry’s directorates, departments and units to define the functional and technical requirements of the proposed e-library system and provide inputs to guide its design and implementation.

Throughout the two-day engagement, participants reviewed the Ministry’s current website and documentation platform and discussed the proposed features, scope, technical requirements and infrastructure considerations for the web application.

They also participated in stakeholder needs assessment and requirements elicitation sessions to identify user needs and recommend functionalities that would support effective document and information management.

The meeting further examined the Ministry’s content strategy and document classification framework, with discussions focusing on the organisation of reports, publications, policies, guidelines and other institutional documents.

Participants also deliberated on user roles, permissions and access management to ensure the proposed e-library provides secure, efficient and role-based access to information across the Ministry.

The stakeholder engagement provided an opportunity for participants to share perspectives and contribute practical recommendations that will support the development of a user-centred e-Library Web Application aimed at strengthening knowledge management and improving access to institutional information across the Ministry.
