Fisheries Commission Continues Consultations on Draft Fisheries Regulations

The Fisheries Commission, in collaboration with the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture and with support from Shared Africa, has continued stakeholder consultations on the Draft Fisheries and Aquaculture Regulations under the Fisheries and Aquaculture Act, 2025 (Act 1146).
The latest session was held on Tuesday, August 18, in Sunyani.
The engagement brought together fisheries and aquaculture stakeholders from the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions to review the draft regulations.
It also provided an opportunity for practical inputs to strengthen fisheries management and governance.
According to the Commission, the engagement forms part of the broader nationwide stakeholder consultation process aimed at ensuring the regulations are inclusive, practical and responsive to the needs of stakeholders across the fisheries sector in Ghana.
