Ghana’s Missions in Ottawa and Washington D.C. Announce Temporary Disruption of Online Services

Ghana’s diplomatic missions in Canada and the United States have announced temporary disruptions to their online services, affecting access to consular information and applications.

In a public notice dated August 17, 2026, the Ghana High Commission in Ottawa said its official website is temporarily offline and is receiving urgent attention. The Mission directed the public to alternative web addresses for consular services in the interim.

For Ghana passport applications, the public should visit http://www.passport.mfa.gov.gh. For the ECOWAS (Ghana) Card, the address is http://www.nia.gov.gh. For visas, applicants can use http://www.evisa.immigration.gov.gh or http://www.ghanaimmigrationservice.gov.gh.

All other enquiries, including requests for attestations and legalisations, should be submitted via email to ottawaconsular@ghanahighcommission.com. The High Commission also urged the public to check its social media handles for updates on Facebook: Ghana High Commission in Canada, X: @ghanaincanada, and Instagram: _Ghanamission in Canada

In a separate notice, the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Washington D.C. said it is currently experiencing technical challenges affecting its online systems. As a result, the Embassy’s website is temporarily unavailable, leading to disruptions in certain services provided by the Mission.

The Embassy advised persons who require urgent travel to Ghana due to an emergency to apply through the Ghana E-Visa platform at https://evisa.immigration.gov.gh/

It regretted any inconvenience caused by the disruption and assured the public that efforts are being made to restore affected services as soon as possible. Further information will be communicated in due course.

Both Missions expressed appreciation for the patience and cooperation of the public as technical teams work to resolve the issues.
