Asantehene Reconstitutes Committee Probing Atobiase-Sewua-Akwaaduo-Saman Land Dispute

The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has reconstituted a committee investigating a land dispute involving the Atobiase, Sewua, Akwaaduo, Homabenase and Saman jurisdictions.

The matter was brought before the Kumasi Traditional Council, presided over by the Asantehene, on August 17, 2026, following reports of the absence of two committee members.

The Council was informed of the death of the Paakosohene, as well as the incapacitation of the Agona Wiamoasehene.

Otumfuo subsequently appointed the Dwatoahene and the Dadiesoabahene to replace them on the committee.

They will now join the remaining two committee members.

The committee members were further charged to carry out their mandate with due diligence in due course.
