Asantehene Entrusts Asanteman to Mamponghene Ahead of US Trip

The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has entrusted the stewardship of Asanteman to the Asante Mamponghene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu III, as he prepares to travel to the United States of America.

Daasebre was informed of this by Otumfuo when he appeared before the Kumasi Traditional Council on August 17, 2026.

Otumfuo used the occasion to formally announce his two-week trip to the US.

“I will be away for two weeks. Asanteman is in your care within the period. The trip is packed with a lot of activities from the first day,” he said.

Otumfuo further stated that upon his return, he will take a one-month leave of absence before resuming official duties.
