OKESS Headmaster and Board Introduced to Asantehene
The newly constituted Board of Governors and the substantive Headmaster of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS) have been officially presented to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace during a ceremonial courtesy call.
The delegation was led by former Board Chairman, Dr Asare Yeboa.
He introduced Prof. Charles Ofosu Marfo as his successor and Mr Frederick Keelson-Aikins as the new Headmaster.
He also introduced Dr Opoku Adusei as a board member, Madam Mary Crowell as a former Headmistress and Awurama Asante as a prominent alumna.
In his remarks, Dr Asare Yeboah formally announced his retirement after seven years of service at the helm of the school board and expressed deep appreciation to Otumfuo for his continuous support toward OKESS.
Dr Yeboah revealed that following Otumfuo’s visit during the school’s 85th anniversary, OKESS secured approximately 10 million Ghana Cedis worth of infrastructure projects.
Key developments include a modern toilet facility constructed by former minister Cecilia Dapaah, an ICT laboratory donated by MTN, and a 600-capacity ICT centre built by the Otumfuo Foundation.
He noted that the new leadership visited to seek royal blessings ahead of their mandate and to extend an early invitation for the school’s upcoming 90th-anniversary celebrations next year.
Responding to the delegation, Otumfuo expressed strong confidence in the executive capabilities of incoming Board Chairman Prof. Marfo and welcomed Headmaster Mr Frederick Keelson-Aikins, charging him to elevate the school’s standards.
The Asantehene assured the delegation of his support, promising to engage Prof. Marfo ahead of next year’s 90th anniversary to identify and address the critical needs of OKESS before the celebrations begin.
