Mfantsipim Invites Otumfuo to 150th Anniversary

Mfantsipim Old Boys Association has officially invited Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, to the school’s 150th-anniversary celebrations scheduled for November.
The invitation was extended by a delegation led by Most Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Asante, the former Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, Ghana, and Prof. Baiden.
Briefing the Asantehene, the school leadership noted that Mfantsipim marks a century and a half of leadership in academic, moral, and civic education this year, with a series of commemorative events set to peak in November.
Accepting the invitation, Otumfuo confirmed his intention to honour the event, recalling that the delegation had initially briefed him on their anniversary roadmap during a visit a year ago.
“We will come when the time is due,” the Asantehene assured the delegation. “They came a year ago to inform me about their plans for the anniversary. If only God gives us life, we will come when the time is due.”
The King commended Mfantsipim School for its distinguished legacy and its immense contributions to national development through the training of influential leaders across various sectors of society.
“The school has produced a lot of great people and has helped Ghana a lot,” Otumfuo stated. “We will honour the school too.”
