One Dead, Five Injured in Accra–Kumasi Highway Crash

One person has died, and five others sustained injuries following a collision between a Kia Rhino and a MAN Diesel truck on the Accra–Kumasi Highway at Asubuo.

The accident occurred on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service, firefighters from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station responded to the accident and rescued a person who was trapped in the Kia Rhino.

The crew used extrication equipment to free the casualty, who was later taken to the Suhum Government Hospital for treatment.

The GNFS reported that the crash left five people injured in total, while a male pedestrian died after reportedly being knocked down during the incident.

Both vehicles involved in the collision sustained damage.

The Service added that the circumstances surrounding the accident are currently under investigation.
