Youth Ministry Renews Focus on Values, Patriotism and Digital Empowerment

The Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment is calling for a renewed focus on integrity, patriotism and digital skills as Ghana commemorates International Youth Day 2026 under the national theme “Rebuilding Values, Inspiring Patriotism: Empowering the Youth in the Digital Age.”

The Ministry described today’s youth as active agents of change who are driving solutions to local and national challenges and contributing to Ghana’s social and economic transformation.

It further stated that it remains committed to expanding skills development and lifelong learning, supporting youth entrepreneurship and innovation, promoting decent employment and economic inclusion, strengthening youth participation in governance, advancing mental health awareness, and ensuring no young person is left behind regardless of location, gender, ability or socioeconomic background.

The statement also called for stronger collaboration among government institutions, the private sector, development partners, civil society, educational institutions and communities to create an enabling environment for youth to thrive.

It urged all stakeholders to work together to rebuild values of integrity, discipline, hard work and patriotism while empowering young people to use digital opportunities responsibly and productively.

“As we celebrate International Youth Day, we honour the determination, talent, and achievements of Ghana’s youth. By rebuilding values, inspiring patriotism, and empowering young people in the digital age, we can build a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient Ghana where every young person has the opportunity to realise their full potential,” the Ministry said in a press release dated August 11, 2026.
