2025 BECE: Education Minister Promises Remedial Action Where Necessary for Accident Victims
The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, says special measures will be put in place to accommodate some Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates who missed one paper after they were involved in an accident.
According to the former Minority Leader of Parliament, the remedial action will be undertaken within the confines of the BECE regulations where necessary as the Ghana Education Service (GES) investigates the incident.
“The Director General of GES and his men are investigating it and the appropriate remedial action will be taken to allow them progress where necessary within the rules with the assessment authority of the country.”
The eight students from the Nangbagu Yapala M/A JHS in the Northern Region were involved in a road accident on their way to write a paper at the Tamale Secondary School (Tamasco) examination centre.
They were being conveyed in a tricycle when the accident which claimed one life occurred on Tuesday.
