Yvonne Nelson Insists Sarkodie Pushed For Abortion Despite His Denial In New Track

Ghanaians have been thrown into a dilemma as a result of actress Yvonne Nelson and rapper Sarkodie’s conflicting narration of how the embryo from their encounter got flushed and never saw the light of day on earth.

This comes after the rapper born Michael Owusu Addo released a track titled “Try Me” recounting his own version of the incident.

In the song released last night, he denied being behind the idea of an abortion noting it is the part of the book that “vexes” him.

He admitted he was not ready to be a father then but ready to keep it, however, Yvonne demanded they get rid of it so she focuses on her education.

“Yes I wasn’t ready but I told you to keep it but you said you needed to complete your education.”

He also denied driving her to a doctor to have the baby aborted noting, “I suggested my doctor attend to you but you said you didn’t need it. After the conversation, you sent me a text saying your friend’s doctor is the best. Don’t make it seem like I was the one pushing you for abortion because that is the only part that makes me vex.”

He posited that women get backing in cases like these even when they lie. He further jabbed, “Take the blame cos no one is to blame for your bad choice.”

To Sarkodie, the book is doing well on the market “not because it’s good but because we live in a world where negativity sells.”

In response to his song, Yvonne maintains what she has published is the truth.

“In my book, i narrated how you got me pregnant, How you couldn’t wait for me to get rid of it. How you DROVE me to have an abortion. As usual, you want to use rap to rubbish a pain a young woman felt. We both have daughters, lets see what life throws at them,” she tweeted.

In another tweet she said, “Insults won’t work michael. Respect womanhood, Im happy the world gets to see how you are playing this and the real you. Young women get to learn from this. You would get the applause for a rap.still doesn’t change the TRUTH.”

Background
In her memoir titled “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson” and launched on June 18, Yvonne detailed an amorous relationship with the Sarkodie which resulted in a pregnancy that was later aborted following his insistence, she said.

She said she got pregnant at 25 while she was about to graduate with a degree and her acting career had taken off extremely well, but had been hit with a ban in Ghana.

“I had gone for a pregnancy test to confirm what becomes the most obvious conclusion for a sexually active young woman who misses her monthly flow. I was in the company of Karen. And when the test result was ready, I wasn’t strong enough to open it. She did and declared the verdict. “Charlie, it dey there!” she exclaimed. On an ordinary day, I would have laughed out loud and that would trigger a string of jolly conversations and jokes. But this was no laughing matter.

“It was a grim piece of information that was capable of turning my world upside down. I wasn’t the only one responsible for the situation, so I called the man whose potent seed had germinated in me. His name is Michael Owusu Addo, a renowned Ghanaian musician who is better known as Sarkodie. Sarkodie was a budding musician with the potential to become one of the biggest artists in Ghana and beyond. At the time, however, the future looked uncertain, and his way through the maze of life still appeared too foggy to predict. Success was not guaranteed. He was still living with his mother and was not ready to carry a burden while he was being carried by his mother.”

The book recounts, “I sensed the intensity of his emotions when I broke the news to him. I could hear his heart pounding, and when he finally found his voice, he faltered. His message was, however, unambiguous. He didn’t want the pregnancy. That would damage him and his career. The only option was to get rid of it.”
