Yaya Touré Obtains UEFA Pro Coaching Licence
Former legendary Ivorian footballer Yaya Touré has obtained a UEFA Pro Coaching Licence.
Currently the assistant coach of the Saudi Arabia national team, he got certified on January 5, 2025, and shared the good news on social media.
The licence granted by the European Football Association is the highest professional game coaching course offered.
It is designed to develop highly skilled and aspiring leaders, managers and coaches capable of creating sustained success in football.
The 41-year-old started his coaching career in February 2021 at Ukrainian Premier League club Olimpik Donetsk as assistant manager. He however left the position after 4 months.
In June 2021, he was appointed as an assistant coach by Russian Premier League club Akhmat Grozny until June 2022 but left in December.
He became an under-16 coach at Tottenham Hotspur’s academy in August 2022 and then moved to Belgian club Standard Liège as assistant manager in June 2023.
On November 3, 2023, Touré was named as assistant coach of the Saudi Arabia national team.
With his pro licence, the former midfielder can now coach in major tournaments.
