World Cup Qualifiers: Black Stars Is Our Only National Team, Let’s Support It- Ogum

The Head coach of Asante Kotoko SC, Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum, has rallied support for the Black Stars as it prepares to lock horns with Chad in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
He believes the team, when offered the needed support, would deliver the expected results on the pitch.
“It’s the only national team that we have. All over the world, every nation has one national team and what we have as Ghanaians is the Black Stars. I would want to use this opportunity to appeal to all Ghanaians to rally behind the Back Stars today as we play as Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium,” the gaffer said in a prerecorded video posted by his club.
“I would like to appeal to them to go in their numbers. We have to be patient with the players and technical staff as the game unfolds. We should go there and cheer the players, let the players feel that we are there to support them. When we do that, emotionally, it will make them stable and then it will help them to technically and tactically display.”
According to him, the pride of having one’s country rep on the world stage is enough reason for all Ghanaians to be interested in creating the enabling environment to support the Otto-Addo-led team.
“The world is the ultimate. If you say you are a footballing nation then you should showcase what you have as a footballing nation at the World Cup. We’ve been there before since 2006. It’s not a new place for us so whatever we need to do as supporters we have to do.”
The Black Stars will lock horns with Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, 2025, and then travel to Morocco to face Madagascar in another Group I match on Monday, March 24, 2025.
Ghana is currently second in Group I with nine points from four matches after securing three wins and one defeat, levelling them with Comoros.
