Wode Maya Marries Kenyan Girlfriend
Youtuber, Berthold Kobby Winkler Ackon, popularly known as Wode Maya has announced his marriage to his Kenyan girlfriend, Trudy, in a simple wedding.
The union took place in Kenya on September 10, 2022, with the attendance of only close relatives, the couple said.
In Maya’s 1000th video on Youtube, which features his marriage, the Youtuber said he intentionally didn’t post anything for his followers for a week because he wanted the video on his marriage to be “memorable”.
He noted that he decided to “sell his freedom” after he encountered a challenge from one of his followers who asked a question about the idea of settling down with Trudy.
He believes the “union will unite the whole continent”.
The couple claims they spent $1000 on the whole wedding ceremony.
They disclosed that Trudy’s “expensive wedding ring” as well as other expenses were covered by Kenyan friends of Maya willingly.
Maya says received a two-bedroom apartment while Trudy got a one-bedroom apartment as wedding gifts.
The couple first met in Ethiopia three years ago while working on a video.
