Why Funny Face Ruled Out Suicide During Depression Episode
Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face has once again spoken about his desire to commit suicide during his depression episodes a few years ago.
This time around, the “Cow and Chicken” actor added what prompted him to abandon the idea.
One of the incidents that brought up that idea, he recalled, was when he was informed about the death of his brother.
“My brother died and I was informed while at the psychiatric {hospital} at a time, I needed a sound mind to recover. This made me feel I wanted to die”, the comedian said in an interview on 3 FM.
He told the host he went in for poison to finish himself and decided to take his balance after handing over his money to the seller.
However, he came to himself at that moment.
“I wanted to kill myself. I went to buy rat poison. It was when I wanted to take change that I realised I was not ready to die.”
He amusingly explained that “If you want to die, why are you waiting for change”.
He advised persons treading a similar episode not to give up on life.
“Everything you are going through if you stay focused and steadfast in the lord, you will look back on this day and laugh.”
He is sure that anyone who chooses that option will regret it after death.
