We’ve Opened Thousands of Non-immigrant Visa Appointment Slots- US Embassy in Ghana

The United States of America Embassy in Ghana has announced the opening of thousands of additional non-immigrant visa appointment slots.

In a social media post, it said the Embassy of Accra continues to process non-immigrant visa applications.

It therefore urged persons seeking to travel to the US for the upcoming World Cup tournament to take advantage and apply immediately.

“Planning to travel to the United States for the 2026 World Cup? If you do not yet have a valid U.S. visa, we encourage you to apply early.”

This comes ahead of the suspension of the issuance of immigrant visas to selected countries, including Ghana, effective January 21, 2026.

“Immigrant visa applicants who are nationals of impacted countries may submit visa applications and attend interviews, and the Department of State will continue to schedule applicants for appointments, but no immigrant visas will be issued to nationals of these countries during this pause,” it noted in a statement.
