West Ham’s Michail Antonio Undergoes Surgery After Accident
West Ham United have confirmed that its forward, Michail Antonio has undergone surgery following Saturday’s road traffic accident.
The Jamaican suffered a lower limb fracture in what police said was a single-vehicle collision with his Ferrari in Essex.
Reports say he was trapped inside his vehicle for almost an hour as emergency services worked tirelessly to free him before he was airlifted to a hospital in central London.
It has been confirmed that he is currently stable after the surgery and under medical scrutiny.
“West Ham United can confirm Michail Antonio has undergone surgery on a lower limb fracture following a road traffic accident on Saturday afternoon. Michail will continue to be monitored in hospital over the coming days.”
“Everyone at the Club wishes Michail a speedy recovery,” it added.
Meanwhile, there are fears that this development might end the 34-year-old’s career on the pitch.
This is yet to be confirmed as reports indicate that his fate can be determined after 12 months.
