West Africa SHS Headmistress Suspended
The Ghana Education Service has announced the suspension of Dr Mrs Shine Agatha Ofori, the head teacher of West Africa Senior High School (SHS).
In a notice by the Service, it said the interdiction was provoked by the collection of unauthorized money from students.
The notice from the head of Public Relations at the GES, Cassandra Twum Ampofo communicated, “Management of the GES has interdicted Dr Mrs Shine Agatha Ofori, the head teacher of West Africa SHS for unauthorized collection of money from students.”
Her case is currently before the Regional Disciplinary Committee and is pending determination.
Meanwhile, she has been directed to hand over to the Regional Director of Education.
This comes exactly three months after the headmaster of Fijai Senior High School (SHS), Mr Kenneth Agbomadze was suspended in like-manner for the same offence.
He was, however, reinstated in May after an investigation by the disciplinary committee.
Although the outcome of the investigations was not communicated, the GES said the Regional Director of Education would work with the management of the school to ensure that the recommendations of the committee were implemented.
