We’ll Work with Integrity; Asante Police Officers Promise Otumfuo

The Association of Police Officers of Ashanti has promised to maintain integrity and high professional standards in the discharge of their mandate across the length and breadth of the country.

This is to honour and bring glory to their King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The group gave assurances when they visited the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, to pay homage to the King during the Awukudae festival.

Led by the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo, the group made up of junior, senior and retired officers said they would do all it takes to distinguish themselves in their various positions.

They are also bent on ensuring a peaceful general election this December, they told Otumfuo.

“We promise to work hard and do everything there needs to be to safeguard the safety of Ghanaians in integrity and loyalty. We won’t let you down.”

The group further donated ₵80,000 towards the Heal Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) project being spearheaded by His Majesty.

In his remarks, Otumfuo expressed his elation at the unity forged by the group to preserve their tribal identity and alliance.

“Strengthen this bond between you. There is a reason I say this. It’s no secret that Asantes are their own enemies in their working environment but unity is very key to me.”

His Majesty also pronounced an interest in a meeting with all members of the Association in the coming days for a comprehensive engagement.

Among the delegation were Rt Commissioner of Police Alex Mensah, ACP William Mensah and Insp Gloria Karikari.
