We Will Negotiate A Good Deal With The IMF-Akufo-Addo

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that his outfit will negotiate a good deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to restore the country’s economic fortunes.

He made this assurance to the good people of Ghana on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2022, National Delegates Conference at the Accra Sports Stadium.

According to President Akufo-Addo, the NPP Government came to office under the IMF program inherited from former President, John Dramani Mahama and his administration.

The President who doubles as the leader of the NPP currently, pointed out that, upon their assumption of office his Government worked hard and brought the country out of the 2015 IMF program of Mahama’s administration.

He said, until the unexpected Covid-19 pandemic, his Government was in the process to build a strong economy.

Akufo-Addo stated that the Government will not be in a position of negotiation sake with the IMF but to implement a good arrangement for the betterment of the country.

Nana Addo indicated that, NPP has a tradition of taking Ghana from hardship and difficulties before and they are going to do it again.

President says, the bouncing back of the country’s economic development as far as IMF financial support is concerned will be an economy that will on the other hand provide a platform for the NPP to win the general elections in 2024.

In addition, the president told his party members that it is their historic duty to maintain NPP in office under a new candidate and a new leader but with the same ideology.
