We Will Do More Than Our Predecessors- IGP To Otumfuo
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare has assured that his outfit through a united workforce will put in more work than their predecessors to ensure safety in the country.
He says, for the love of Ghana every effort will be used in the promotion of security to allow for smooth governance.
The works of his predecessors have been at their disposal which has exposed them to the challenges and successes that came with it.
This gives them an upper hand to transform the sector for healthy security.
The IGP with his team at the Manhyia Palace informed the King of their presence in the region pending a security tour which is to ensure that security in Kumasi is intact.
He expressed gratitude to Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his counsel which has yielded positive results in all areas.
The IGP was with the police Headquarters Management Board including COP Kwasi Boakye, the Director-General in charge of Legal and Prosecution for the police service.
Asantehene, on his side, lauded the IGP for his move so far after his recent appointment and encouraged that more be done.
He was told that the country’s safety and peace have been put in his care and need collaborative efforts from his staff for the nation’s success.
Otumfuo asked that peace be their priority because as it stands, Ghana is blessed, unlike other neighbouring African countries.
The issue of unlicensed guns he said needs to be of great importance to them in a way that the means through which these illegal arms travel into the country be detected and controlled.
Dr Dampare was then asked not to cease consistency as he did at the grassroots to the top and through his experience and knowledge in both areas advance all areas.
