The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) has assured its valued stakeholders that it will continue to provide a stable power system for dependable and efficient power supply for national and economic growth.
This follows yesterday’s incident in the evening when their power system experienced a significant disturbance leading to a power cut in almost all its coverage areas.
In a new release cited by Opemsuo.com, GRIDCo apologized for the inconvenience caused.

Tuesday, November 9, 2021 – At 19:50GMT on Monday, November 8, 2021, the power of the system experienced a significant disturbance.
All generating units at Aboadze Enclave and Bui tripped, resulting in a power outage in sections of Accra, the Western, Middle, and Northern parts of the country.
At 04:38GMT on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, generating units at Aboadze and Bui were restored, supplying electricity to all major Bulk Supply Points (BSPs).
At 04:50GMT on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, in the process of restoring the remaining BSPs, a second disturbance occurred, resulting in the loss of generating units at Aboadze Enclave and Bui.
This led to another interruption of electricity supply to several areas of Accra, the Western, Middle, and Northern parts of the country.
GRIDCo, in collaboration with its key stakeholders in the power supply chain, has restored
power to all BSPs.
GRIDCo assures its valued stakeholders that it will continue to provide a stable power system for dependable and efficient power supply for national and economic growth.
