We Need Younger Talents in the Black Stars- Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has suggested the integration of younger talents into the senior national team.

This, he said, is to prepare the next generation of players for international duties.

According to the President, taking such a proactive step will be in the best interest of the country beyond the 2026 World Cup.

During a visit to the players at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 19, he said conscious efforts must be made at sustaining the team and repositioning it as a force to reckon with continentally and globally.

“We are going to continue to support you, not only for the World Cup but beyond. We must build a very strong team and the way to build a strong team is to find the resources to bring you together as much as possible so that you are playing together and then also to look for young talents to join you so you also can play with them and bring them up as the next generation of the Stars.”

The Black Stars will lock horns with Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, 2025, and then travel to Morocco to face Madagascar in another Group I match on Monday, March 24, 2025.

Ghana is currently second in Group I with nine points from four matches after securing three wins and one defeat, levelling them with Comoros.
