We Look Forward To Otumfuo’s Golden Jubilee and 99th Birthday- Kontire Division
The Kontire Division of the Kumasi Traditional Council is anticipating many more years ahead of the 16th King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
As such, they are looking up to joining His Majesty for his Golden Jubilee in the next 25 years.
The leader of the Division, Bantamahene Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, delivered this as the group’s well-wish for His Majesty as he marks his 25th Anniversary on the Golden Stool as well as his 74th birthday.
“We look forward to your 50th Anniversary on the Golden Stool at which time you will be 99 years and filled with strength and in top shape,” he said.
The same wish was publicly desired by the Adonten Division when they took turn before the King.
The leader of the Division in his remarks praised Otumfuo for the numerous interventions and his exceptional leadership qualities.
“You have done a lot in the past 25 years yet still a lot more is left for you to do for Asanteman and Ghana.”
This was on May 8, 2024, when Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II availed himself at the Manhyia Palace for congratulatory messages and gifts from the general public.
Paramount Chiefs of Asaman Asumenya, Offinso, Akwamu, Domeabra, Adankranya, Mim, Manso Nkwanta, Bekyem, Goaso and Divisions including the Kontire, Adonten, Benkum, Kyidom, Gyaase, Nkosuo, Mmawere, Gyaase and Ankobra took advantage and paid homage through their gifts.
Meanwhile, businesses, associations and individuals who appeared before Otumfuo included the Asanko Gold Mine, the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), Zenith Bank, Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Ghana Draught Association (GDA), Nananom Progressive UK, K. Adu Gas and Stoves, Onion Sellers Association and Prophetess Vida Osei Mensah, the leader of Vida Bethel Prayer Ministry.
