We Have not Stopped Revenue Mobilisation- ECG
The Ashanti Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Grace Gershon has said that even though the special revenue mobilization exercise ended on April 20, 2023, customers who still have arrears are expected to settle their debts.
According to Grace Gershon, in an interview on Nkwantannanso on Opemsuo Radio, it is mandatory for every ECG customer to make monthly payments.
“It is the responsibility of customers to pay their electricity bills on time, regardless of whether they received a bill or not in a particular month. Customers can estimate their bill amount based on previous bills and make payments accordingly,” she said
She said that if there is any issue or discrepancy with the bill, they can contact the ECG office to resolve it. Delaying payment of electricity bills can result in disconnection of service and additional fees.
The spokesperson also mentioned that the majority of households in the Ashanti Region now have prepaid meters installed. However, she added that there is no specific timeline for converting all post-paid meters to prepaid meters, as it requires a significant amount of funds.
