We Feel Impact of Leadership with Yohuno at Helm of Affairs- Asantehene

The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has hailed the impact of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Christian Yohuno, as head of the Ghana Police Service.

Ten months into the appointment, the Asantehene stated that leadership is echoing within the service and felt across the country.

His Majesty recognises that he assumed office while “public expectation was high and patience was thin.”

“Within this short period, the impact of leadership has been felt, and we see it reflecting in essential elements of law enforcement, calm authority and professionalism.”

Otumfuo thus commended the IGP.

“I commend your leadership and encourage you to strengthen the service with firmness and foresight. The work you have begun will outlive your tenure if upheld in value.”

Meanwhile, Otumfuo expressed confidence in the Service in the delivery of its mandate.

“When I survey the galaxy of agile men and women assembled before me today, I am confident that you are up to any challenge the year may throw up, and I encourage you to stick together in continued dedication to the upliftment of the Service.”

Otumfuo made these remarks at the National Police Headquarters in Accra on January 6, 2025.
