Water Has Been Our Major Challenge For Years – Hon. Appiah Kubi
The people of Gyankobaa-Wioso have for a long time been without hygienic water. It was no wonder that when the government came with the idea of solar-powered water project they erupted into thunderous joy.
But their joy was short lived – the project has been abandoned for the past three years. There is no sign that the project will be continued.
Speaking with Opemsuo Radio, Assemblyman for the area, Hon. Appiah Kubi, appealed to the authorities to get the contractor back on site to complete the abandoned projects.
According to him, the solar-powered water supply system would solve their problem when as far as water need is concerned.
A resident, Opanin Kwasi Badu, disclosed, “The place where the project is sited belongs to me; they did not seek permission from me before starting the whole thing. I did not fight back when they started because the whole community will benefit but from the look of things they have deceived us all”.
The aggrieved resident made it clear that he would soon take legal action to get his plot of land back since it could serve another purpose with more profit
