W/R: Dompim Mining Site Foreman Fingered as Armed Robbery Mastermind

A foreman at a mining site at Dompim in the Western Region, Ebenezer Soore, has been arrested after he was fingered as the mastermind behind an armed robbery attack on site.

Preliminary investigations established that four armed men attacked the mining site, robbing workers of gold concentrate amidst gunfire.

One of the suspects, Akwasi Abban, was arrested at the scene by workers at the site while the others escaped.

Abban admitted to the crime and exposed site foreman, Ebenezer, as the insider informant who masterminded the attack.

“Suspect Soore was subsequently arrested” by the Western Central Regional Police Command.

The remaining three suspects were identified as Elijah Arthur, Elisha Arthur, and David Agyarko were subsequently arrested on 2nd June 2025.

“All the suspects have since been put before court and remanded into prison custody,” the police said in a statement.
