Vice President Congratulates CID Boss

Vice President Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang has extended a congratulatory message to COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
It follows her election to the INTERPOL Africa Committee.
In a Facebook post, the veep wrote, “Warm congratulations to COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, Director-General, CID, on her election to the INTERPOL Africa Committee. She is the first Ghanaian and only woman on the committee.”
According to her, the election was a proud moment for Ghana and a positive sign for women in leadership positions.
COP Donkor will serve a four-year term as a member of the Committee.
The newly formed INTERPOL Africa Regional Committee serves as a vital platform for the enhancement of law enforcement cooperation across the African region.
Its objectives include, but are not limited to, identifying strategic priorities in the fight against crime and proposing a recommended course of action to the African Regional Conference and advising on issues of criminality and police cooperation specific to the Africa Region.
Other members nominated to the committee for a four-year term are Egypt, Kenya, and South Africa, while Botswana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, and Sudan were nominated to serve two-year terms on the Committee.
