Veteran Ghanaian Actor Mawuli Semevo Passes On

Veteran Ghanaian actor Mawuli Semevo has passed away.
He died of injuries from severe burns he suffered after his residence caught fire earlier this month, having 44% of his body burnt.
News of the accident was brought to public attention on February 8 by the Executive Director of Beyond Burns International, Judith Addison.
On February 9, actress Edinam Atatsi alongside other actors and actresses after visiting him solicited public assistance in raising funds to support Mawuli’s medical treatment.
She disclosed he was in a critical condition as he could not breathe properly as a result of damage to his respiratory system.
“His life is hanging on a balance…From his head to his legs, everywhere caught fire.”
He had since been receiving treatment at the Ridge Hospital in Accra until his demise on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the age of 63 years.
The legendary actor is remembered for his roles in movies like ‘Harvest at 17’, ‘A Stab in the Dark’, ‘Escape of Love’, ‘Like Cotten Twines’ and ‘The Good Old Days: The Love of AA.’
