University Of Ghana Ranked Best In Ghana & 2nd In West Africa
The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) has ranked the University of Ghana (UG) as the best in Ghana and the second best in West Africa in the 2023 rankings.
This comes after an assessment of 20,531 universities worldwide based on education quality, alumni employment, faculty quality, and research performance.
It is second to the University of Ibadan in West Africa.
The University asserts that the result is a testament to it’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, innovative research, and holistic student development over its 75 years of existence.
This year, CWUR, found the top ten Universities to be Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Princeton University, University of Chicago, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania and Yale University.
The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR)Rating System evaluates universities and colleges on four measures: education, employability, faculty, and research.
The CWUR is a leading consulting organization providing policy advice, strategic insights, and consulting services to governments and universities to improve educational and research outcomes.
The ranking started in 2012 as a project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with the aim of rating the top 100 world universities.
It was quickly reported worldwide by universities and the media, and many requests were received to expand it.
In 2019, the ranking expanded to list the top 2000 out of nearly twenty thousand universities worldwide, making it the largest academic ranking of global universities.
