Unemployed Trained Teachers Fume over 6,100 Recruitment Plan

The Coalition of Unemployed Trained Teachers has expressed fury over the government’s announced plan to recruit 6,100 teachers.
In a statement, it indicated that the number was insufficient and could eliminate merit-based recruitment.
It stated that the group was made up of over 17,000 unemployed graduates of Colleges of Education who completed their studies in 2023.
“We believe every qualified graduate deserves an opportunity to serve in Ghana’s educational sector.”
It further demanded clarification on the criteria for selection of the 6,1000 recruits and a clear roadmap.
The group hit the streets of Accra to demand a mass recruitment of teachers who graduated in 2023.
